There is an opportunity to brighten up the area outside the Hook and Parrot building by displaying some artworks.

I would like to invite you to get involved by producing one or about 24 paintings

The project is called ‘Sure Line’.  Yes that is the right spelling as the unifying factor for all the artworks is the horizon line.  It does however reference the other shore and fits between Coast and Tide cafes but it is also our one true line upon which we construct our vertical lines and eventually buildings, i.e the construction work.

And so what I am asking for is one, or more if you like, quick painting, drawing, collage, artwork of the sea and sky with anything in it you fancy, boats, islands, swimmers, mermaids, fish, superheroes etc but try keep a strong element of horizon.

Ideally bright colours, think Bahamas not Scarborough

Quick, because these are probably not going to be returned due to weather, vandalism. time .

I will provide the boards, Painted and marked up with the horizon line, (top third sky, bottom 2 sea).  They measure 80 x x60 cm and orientate portrait

Acrylic paint would be best, but any paint that will not smudge if covered in varnish.

What’s in it for you?  Not much really but there will be one board for names and websites etc Maybe some press.  But mainly knowing we have brightened up the place a bit for the summer.
